Bethlehem man shot to death in Allentown, authorities say (UPDATE)

A Bethlehem man was shot to death Monday night in Allentown, authorities say.

It occurred just before 9 p.m. in the city’s 1900 block of East Fairmont Street, city police and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office confirm.

No one was immediately reported to be in custody in connection with the homicide.

“The investigation is active and ongoing,” Allentown Police Chief Charles Roca said Tuesday morning.

The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office on Tuesday afternoon identified the victim as 27-year-old Hansan Gordon. He was pronounced dead at 9:49 p.m. at the scene, and died of gunshot wounds to the body. The death was ruled a homicide, the coroner’s office said.

Police Capt. Alicia Conjour said police responding to a reported shooting found the victim.

WFMZ-TV 69 reported neighbors said they heard shots and saw a man lying in the street.

Detectives from the district attorney’s office and the coroner’s office are assisting city police in the probe, Conjour said.
